Whoohoo! It didn’t take me long to zero-in on version of choice and order my new Sony VAIO laptop and protection plan of choice…A great gift for self or others. Gratefully, the seller accelerated delivery time, appeasing my anxious waiting. My VAIO is a space saver with pleasing cosmetic slim line appearance, lighted keyboard. It’s EZ to reprogram if needed, and has a high definition sound card along with numerous other user friendly features. Would I recommend others purchase a Sony laptop version of choice? Yes indeed! Why pay more than necessary for quality you deserve? I take care of my VAIO and it serves me well. Thanks for providing another wonderful product available for purchase online and special delivery which eliminated the run-around shopping in physical stores often presents. Offhand, I cannot think of anything I dislike about my new laptop. No regrets!

This, aesthetically, is a beautiful machine, but, after setting it up, began freezing regularly. A patch was recommended (I've never had a laptop where in day two it required a patch) and still the problem persist. I should have got the HP Envy after all, but was sold on this because it was newer. Also, when I purchased this it was advertised as having a touch screen. There are two models I now know. The Fit and the Fit E, which is the one I wanted.

I've had this laptop less than two months. It has had terrible Wi-Fi connection since the beginning, which I read is quite common. Today, the laptop started turning off on it's own for no reason. When I try to turn it on again, it won't work for the first few tries. When it does work, it turns off after a minute or two of being on.

Out of the box, this thing worked well and after 3 days, the battery died completely. Confidence shaken in the Sony, I ordered a similarly equipped, $50 more -- Same processor -- 8 GB instead of 4 GB memory, Acer S7. Aside from the fact the battery on the Acer hasn't failed after weeks, the computer is noticeably more responsive and feels much more solid. The Sony is very lite, but it also flexes and feels breakable. I love Sony products and wanted to like it, but the Acer is a better computer, IMHO.

I have a 300 compag that is more stable than this crap. I love Sony and I have a old Vaio. For expensive laptop this is worthless, unstable wifi and it its full of errors. I keep on getting this damn blue screen that it needs to restart because of a error. The screen brightness gets stuck and stays dim. If I wasn't in Korea and had the box with me I would have returned this first week.

This laptop was purchased for my son to use at college. We chose it because of favorable reviews over Apple MacAir and HP Folio- both of which I have used. This laptop worked great until about 4 weeks after purchase. Now it is chronically overheating and it won't turn off after shutting it down. My son needs it for his schoolwork now and we are faced with how to fill the gap until this is repaired or replaced (hopefully under warranty). Very disappointing... I am hoping that Sony will stand behind this product and find a way to help but right now we are just trying to contact them.

I bought this laptop before it was released so I wasn't really sure of what it would be, fortunately it is a nice and stylish laptop it has a great perfomance, really fast, so far it works great for my basic homework and university work (matlab, R, C++..etc), any complains about it. It's a pain in the .. to get used to windows 8 but once yo get used to it the whole thing it's pretty easy to enjoy. It was a good purchase in terms of price/specs because I don't needed an ultra fast jet/laptop. It "fits" perfectly for my needs.

My last laptop was a VAIO that lasted me a long seven years, so this brand was my go-to when it was time to upgrade. I didn't realize it had a i3 (instead of i5) processor until I ordered (because.. apparently I can't read, so) but it hasn't seemed to make THAT much of a difference in functionality. Main pro, for me at least, with this upgrade, is the battery life. With the right settings, this thing goes for HOURS.

This product is good, the only problem I have is trying install softwear, for my printer to connect but other then that it cool, the speaker is nice you could hear clear sound,and the apps that window8 provide is pretty cool. and it is fast.

Aside from the horrible Windows 8, the computer functions pretty well (speed, stability, functions). I tried Skype and the camera did not work. After spending 2 hours on the phone with customer service, they asked me to ship the computer back to Sony. They fixed the camera, but the shocker was how poor the camera quality was. The maximum resolution is 1.0 megapixel. This means it's a grainy picture with poor color and lighting. I should have looked at the specs better before buying, but I assumed that Sony would not have this type of issue. It's all over the internet how poor the webcam quality is. In today's world, a webcam is essential. I would not buy this again.

Like this laptop a lot. Replaced a three year old Lenovo. Cold boot to logon screen about 12 seconds with the solid state HD. Getting used to new Windows OS is a little bit of a pain, but no major issues.

My image of Sony products is very positive and pricy. My daughter loves the looking of this Sony laptop although there are reviews mentioned WiFI issue on this model. so we go ahead to buy this laptop and hope we are not the 50% of unlucky buyers to get a laptop with bad WIFI. In the first day, WIFI sometime worked, But most of time it did not work. In the second day, WIFI did not work. Return this unit and plan to buy other brand.

This laptop is better than the Apple Air. Not only is it super thin, but the screen is touchscreen! Everywhere I go with it people do doubletakes or secretly admire it from afar. It's perfect for school because it starts up very fast. I know most of us are tempted to join the sea of laptops you'll face as a college student entering a classroom or lecture hall, but let me reassure you that this is the computer to get.

I like this laptop a lot. It is cute, bit heavy (almost 5lbs) yet the battery life is amazing. I am a college student and have a load of classes. My laptop never died on me so far, unless I didn't charge it, and its sturdy! Only complaint is that the click touch pad (the flat build in mouse) tends to not respond to "right-click" functions. For example, when you right-click to copy, open new tab, or to see the options, it does not always respond or it does a one-click on a link when you wanted to load it in a different tab. Gets frustrating when I am trying to correct a paper, open a new link in a new tab, or searching something. This is why I gave it a 4 out 5 star. But, over all I do like it, it does not over heat quickly like my other 4 HP laptops. Good Performance!

I know that the speed issue is mostly due to the fact that this computer is an entry-level computer that only costs $600-$700, but it just doesn't have the juice to get into anything other than simple tasks. For what I needed (a temporary computer that was economical that could help me decide if I would hate Windows 8) it is more than competent. However, if you need more than that, I would suggest spending the extra few hundred dollars for a computer that will be faster and last you for a longer time.

It took a while to get everything to sync with Win 8. Best advice is to attach every account (FB, Twitter, etc.) to your Windows Live account on another computer before you set this one up. Gmail is not supported by Win 8 so you will have to do a work around to get it added. I had to allow special permissions to get it to work. It also seems to have an issue with the WiFi losing networks when waking up from sleep. A restart seems to reset everything. Having said those negative things, it looks great. The closest in style to a Macbook IMO. It does not have a DVD drive so if you want one you will have to buy an external. Overall very pleased.

The laptop looked great and Windows 8 was okay once you get use to it however, the wifi never worked. Once connected to any router after a couple minutes it would stop working. This was tried on several different networks. After further research decided the Sony Vaio was not for me.

I bought this laptop couple of days ago and after switching it on, I see pixels very well. I was very dissapointed and what is very important, I opened internet based resolution tests and it tells me 1580x860 than 1920x1080 (FULL HD) It might be a problem of matrix. My 2008 model sony vaio is more crips in terms of the display than this one.

I liked the size and the screen was good but these new mouse pads are terrible 1 hour into it I wanted to throw the computer out the window. The mouse pad had no right or left click buttons and there was no control with the cursor at all. If your going to get a Sony Vaio I recommend the i5 processor the i3 is a little to basic and slow for me but could do well for someone who just looks up e-mail and browses the web. I also loved the illuminated keyboards, all laptops should have this feature most people use there laptops all the time and that would be good to see on more models in the future. Also get a computer that has windows 7, windows 8 is garbage.
